Top of the Town

I am starting a new job tomorrow (only part time) working as a manager for a beautiful event center in Arlington, Virginia. It is located on the top floor of a complex and the entire floor is encased in glass that gives a panoramic view of Arlington Cemetery, Iwo Jima, The Air Force Memorial, the D.C. monuments and you can even see the Masonic Temple in the distance.

This is the view of the monuments from the Top of The Town Event Center. I'm excited to work with events again (even if it's just part time).

Chanthoeun comes for a visit.

My friend Chanthoeun has been living in Pittsburgh with her husband Casey this summer. They are friends of mine from high school and so I was pleased when Chanthoeun called and said she wanted to visit before heading back to Utah for school. Kami's also a high school friend and so she came with me to show Chanthoeun around the monuments the first night of the visit.

You can't really tell in this picture, but the moon was red and orange that night. creepy..

Chanthoeun and I went to a great Hawaiian performance by Gary Haleamau at the Kennedy Center. His band played the ukulele, slack guitar and his wife did some Hawaiian dancing.

Afterwards, Chanthoeun and I rode the water taxi from Georgetown to Old Town Alexandria. this is another pic of the Kennedy Center from the boat. Isn't Chantheoun beautiful? Can you see her camera? She was snapping photos of everything, I'm excited to see her blog post on D.C.

It was too dark to take great pics, but the monuments really are so beautiful lit up at night.

I've wanted to go on the water taxi for months, thanks for visiting and giving me the motivation Chanthoeun!

Mosaic Table Promise!

Hey Heather-
I was looking at a picture in my room last night of us in front of that elk horn display in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Do you realize that we lived there 5 years ago?? Time flies, eh?
Well, do you remember how we found those cool mosaic tables and we decided we were going to be ultra crafty someday and make our own? I saw this table the other day and it inspired me again. When we live in the same vicinity again, WE ARE GOING TO MAKE MOSAIC TABLES FOR OUR PATIOS. That's a promise and everyone that reads this blog can hold me to it!

Soccer game/Adam's Morgan Pizza

Saturday I went to a DC United Soccer game with some friends. We beat the Kansas Wizards 2-0 and I even watched most of the game (not a big sports fan). This is Tallon the Eagle and he gave me a great big WET hug, which I later found out was because he got drizzled in beer! The fans at the game were pretty crazy with their dancing and chanting to their bongo drum.

After the game, I went dancing in Adam's Morgan with some other friends and of course we stopped for some Super Slice. This picture of Chareese is an old one, but doesn't this greasy, over sized pizza look amazing? It hits the spot in the late hours of the night!

My USU girls!!

These are some pictures that Heather just sent me from her wedding back in April. These pics are overexposed, but I still like them.
