Chanthoeun comes for a visit.

My friend Chanthoeun has been living in Pittsburgh with her husband Casey this summer. They are friends of mine from high school and so I was pleased when Chanthoeun called and said she wanted to visit before heading back to Utah for school. Kami's also a high school friend and so she came with me to show Chanthoeun around the monuments the first night of the visit.

You can't really tell in this picture, but the moon was red and orange that night. creepy..

Chanthoeun and I went to a great Hawaiian performance by Gary Haleamau at the Kennedy Center. His band played the ukulele, slack guitar and his wife did some Hawaiian dancing.

Afterwards, Chanthoeun and I rode the water taxi from Georgetown to Old Town Alexandria. this is another pic of the Kennedy Center from the boat. Isn't Chantheoun beautiful? Can you see her camera? She was snapping photos of everything, I'm excited to see her blog post on D.C.

It was too dark to take great pics, but the monuments really are so beautiful lit up at night.

I've wanted to go on the water taxi for months, thanks for visiting and giving me the motivation Chanthoeun!

So, did Casey not come visit you too? I just noticed that he's not in any of the photos. Did you know that my husband and the Barrus' are second cousins? I saw Casey and Chanteoun last year at the TOlman Family Reunion. How funny, huh?
