TOU 1/2

The TOU 1/2 was my toughest race yet.
Mentally, it was easy.
Physically, I was a mess.
I was still feeling under the weather...
and my knee was screaming from mile 5 on.
Random...
Have you ever noticed 'Old Man Rivers' at every race?
These characters are generally:
80 year old men.
wearing long blue/grey striped socks.
velcro strapped shoes.
and a mesh hat.
Try as I might, they always outrun me.

My friend Neal and I, glistening at the finish line.

A big thanks to my sisters Jen and Tawna for cheering me on.
It reminded me that Perkins Girls Rock.
This devastates me, but if I can't find the problem with my knee--
I won't be running the TOU full in a few weeks.
I think it's my IT band--any suggestions?

I definitely recommend seeing a physical therapist about your knee. If it is the IT band, you'll want help diagnosing the remedy. Mine was killing me last summer, and my PT helped me resolve it in about 6 weeks and I haven't had a problem with it since.

nice work, Tabbi! There are stretches you can do for IT bands. Go see a PT. They can work wonders.

Oh no! I was afraid of that. Not good news. Go see at PT ASAP and see what he says. You've got two weeks, right?
