Here we are at the Singapore airport waiting to board our plane to Cambodia. Hanna is fried.
Tanier is burned.
...but they're both in good spirits. I had to laugh when Hanna pulled out a lollipop at 6 am.
Hanna and Tyson (and some friendly strangers) aboard the 2nd of MANY planes to come.
Welcome to the SMALLEST international airport I've ever seen.
Our mode of transportation in Cambodia.
The minute we left the van, we were surrounded by the cutest sales kids. "Lady, you buy pretty scarf?" "You come buy tshirt, lady..you buy?" "One dollar. you buy book?" "LADY...."
I call this kid Obama, because he knew everything about the U.S.A. and Obama. "Did you know that Alaska is the biggest state in America? The smallest state is Rhode Island. At the age of 47 (?) Barack Hussein Obama became the 44th president of the United States. Him and his wife Michelle are currently visiting .......(can't remember) and their favorite place to vacation is ........(I should've written it down)." This kid was OUTSTANDING! I did not expect everyone in Siem Reap to speak english, let alone school me on my own country!

Breakfast would not be complete without a Coke.
Our tour guide, sava, in front of the city gate to Angkor City.

Close up of the city gate to Angkor City.

A pretty sad imitation of absara dancers, right Noah!? :P
Talented artist. I loved the cartoon feel to his paintings.
One thing I learned in Cambodia: don't put your arms around Monks, even if you're on a small ledge.
More monks in one of the MANY beautiful temple ruins.

Angkor Wat in all it's glory. Hey Joe-neenerneenerneener!
Elephants are everywhere...
Some locals dressed up at one of the ruins.

More Monks. Nothing cooler.

Local kids playing in the mud.
Local kids looking for crabs.
My 'best friend' trying her hardest to sell me all of her scarves. She was good, guaranteed you'd all buy whatever she was selling.

How many monkeys can you count?
Local selling us fruit.

Adopt-a-child ad?! Nope. Just a cute girl leaning against a tree in Siem Reap.

Saleskids surrounding our van.
Are there child labor laws in Cambodia?
Another local carrying hay? through town...
If you can't tell, these kids followed me everywhere and completely melted my heart. I can't believe they live in shacks. I wish I had bought more of their scarves, bracelets, books. The cutest kids in the world live in Siem Reap, Cambodia. I'm sure of it.

Check out these pics from the Siem Reap ruins...

I knew little about the Siem Reap ruins upon arriving in Cambodia. After our expensive guided tour, I still knew very little.

The Ta Prohm Ruins are covered in tree roots.

quoting Tyson: These guys are EVERYWHERE! Check out our sunburns. the happy elders. our swelling ankles. and Hanna's legs. BEET RED!!
I'm a sucker for beggar kids. Hanna couldn't find an ATM. They needed powdered milk for their baby brother.. and lucky for everyone, I was carrying cash. They totally tricked me. Their mom wasn't sleeping, she was outside waiting for her kids to come back with groceries. That's annoying but it was just milk, I have no regrets. Thanks for this pic Buck or Tyson..?

I acquired the nickname 'softball' after putting on some long socks to stop my legs from swelling.
Do you know what you shouldn't do if you have swollen ankles?
A-ride in airplanes.
B-walk around in the heat.
That's perfect, because those were 2 things I couldn't dodge that week.

Tanier, Tyson and I watched the sunrise from this 'hot air' balloon. Minus the hot air.

Up in the giant balloon as the sun set on the Angkor Wat Ruins.
BEST PHOTO FROM THE ENTIRE MONTH: This guy was swerving along the dirt road with a live, squealing, fatty pig tied to his motorbike. How in the world did he get it on there and WHERE is he going? I only wish I knew...
Pond in Siem Reap.
Fried Frogs.
Best Door: Found at the restaurant we ate breakfast at.

My only regret: we only spent 24 hours in Cambodia. I wish we had another day or two there to ride bicycles.
