Hostel: Phi Phi Twin Palm Bungalow. 4 days/3 nights $15
33.34 Thai Baht to 1 US Dollar
Arriving at Phi Phi Island. Standards for the islands(and backpacking in general): no blowdryer, no flat iron, no makeup. The following photos of myself are not my best work.
Spotting the beautiful rock formations located around the island.
Our humble bungalow located 25 feet from the beach. Pro: ocean was right outside our door. Con: drunken riots until 4 AM right outside our door EVERY night.
This is TMI but I'm posting anyway. This sunburn ruined the first week of my trip. Carrying a HEAVY backpack on sunburned shoulders with swollen ankles is, by far, the worst way to travel Asia. I was finally blistering...and peeling. Can you see the water blisters here? Sorry mom. It happened.
This will be the last swollen ankle photo I post. This poor masseuse didn't know how to help.

I was so excited every morning to wake up because that meant we could eat again.
Nothing compares to the food in Thailand. It's to DIE for and it's so cheap. Pad Thai- 75cents. Papaya Salad- 50cents. Coconut Green Curry- $2. Pina Colada (virgin)- $1.50.
Yum Yum Salad and Tom Yum Soup!
How quaint is this scenery? The water is clear and so beautiful.
Tanier and Hanna on the most beautiful beach in the world.
A-MA-zing!!
This place was a dream. I want to go back and live on this island someday.
I mentioned that our bungalow was right on the beach. Well this 'fire dancing' went on outside our place every night. Guys blow fire, throw fire batons and other stupid things. At the end they light a rope and all the drunks attempt to 'fire jump rope'. Everyone gets singed. They're all idiots but it made for great entertainment!
At dinner with our Aussie friend Paige.
It's funny.

Our Aussie friend playing with some local kids.
Hanna hanging with the local kids.
Locals.
Local kid with a rat tail eating ice cream.
Buck LOVED these shishkabobs. When Hanna dropped her shishkabob in the sand, he suggested rinsing it off in the salty ocean water. He couldn't handle wasting it, he loved it that much. Buck and his food...
Tourists. Gotta love 'em.
